“Civilized” America bares its poisoned fangs in the Islamic realm against Iran

by Abu Dharr

If one thinks about it seriously, the world looks like a bizarre place. Scientific strides and technological developments make us think and believe that we are living in the “genteel” and “civilized” 21st century. Few can argue about the scientific and industrial progress in all fields of physical applications and material evolution. Who can argue against automotive transportation or laser manipulations, for example? Nano-technology and medical research, satellites and submarines, the refrigerator and air-conditioner, and a whole line of products can be used to raise the standard of living, provided that the use of technology is done with human-nature as its reference point. We do not want to go on and on heralding the breakthroughs of science and its applications. We think you get the point…

But then we look around and realize that humanity — the same humanity that is enjoying its technological civilization — is living in political and social wilderness. The nation-states of the world are for all practical purposes akin to wild animals: they prey on the poor and annihilate the innocent. Some of them behave like pigs that devour their own piglets when they turn against their own citizens. Some of these nation-states are like foxes: they will do anything they can to trick others into wars and long lasting antagonisms. There are political beasts in every government — from the chief executive all the way down to the puny bureaucrat. It is not an exaggeration to say that the political jungle of the world has its dinosaurs, terrestrial reptiles, cyclopses, dragons, and vampires. In many instances, the most advanced technologically are the most retarded politically.

The best demonstration of this is the imperialist ogre, otherwise known as the United States government. This political pedophile and military monster is making a living out of demonizing Islam, dehumanizing Muslims, and attacking Muslims in their countries and even in their bedrooms. It has its scrofulous sight nowadays set on Islamic Iran. If there were no animal instinct in official Washington, why would it now have a third aircraft carrier stationed in the Persian Gulf? Its amphibious assault ships are like sharks waiting for a kill! And the 10,000 US combat personnel on the waters of the Persian Gulf await the Pentagon’s orders to disrupt the lives of millions of average people going about their everyday life in that region of the world. Military personnel on the USS Nassau, USS Mesa Verde, and USS Ashland are equipped for instantaneous landing, special operations behind enemy lines, and in all likelihood “special operations” units who may be called upon for “classified assignments.”

There are at least 6 vertical take-off AV-HB Harrier attack planes, as well as several AH-1W Super Cobras, 12 CH-46 Sea Knight and CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters. There are also choppers convertible to fast V-22 Osprey planes having the capability of landing virtually anywhere. The USS Harry S. Truman Strike Group consisting of 12 warships is plying the Arabian Sea, mostly opposite the Islamic Revolutionary Guard’s Base of Chah Bahar, near the Iran-Pakistan border. Add to that further westward in the Arabian Sea is the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Strike Group. There is definitely a monster in Washington — with evil on its mind! And this is only a snapshot of a larger and still growing American military presence in and around the heartland of Islam which includes multiple rings of military bases: army, air-force, and navy all around the Islamic Republic. In a jungle like this, wouldn’t anyone with common-sense think about protecting their country and defending their citizens? Would any rational person in the world blame the Islamic Republic of Iran for its military industries and military technologies? In such circumstances, you have to be suicidal not to think about self-defense and state security.

All of the loudmouths in the mainstream media who are talking about Iran becoming an “existential threat” to Israel are leaving out 90% of the facts. It is not Iran that is a threat to the region and the world; it is the maniacs of Zion who are a threat to regional peace and world security. The Israeli top-gun Netanyahu vows that Iran will not be allowed to establish an outpost on Israel’s borders. We have news for you: the Muslims of the world will not be satisfied with just an outpost on Israel’s borders — they want and will have an outage of Isra-hell altogether. The Islamic giant is rising in this imperialist-Zionist jungle. The Zionist wolves are growling; Israel is becoming a Zionist zoo. And you ain’t heard nothing yet… The more Islamic blood that Israel spills, the more Islamic fighters will be born. If you thought that Hizbullah is a threat to the Israeli savage, wait until recruits begin coming in from all over the Muslim world — from the far east to the far west, from the northern polar region to the southern polar region of the planet. This is the tide of the future. There is no turning the clock back. Open your eyes and look carefully: is the world taking the shape of those who want to continue the status quo of the jungle — imperialist America and Zionist Israel in the forefront — or those who want to create a new tomorrow where humans have the liberty and dignity endowed upon them by their Creator — the Law-Giver and Merciful — led by the Islamic State in Iran and the Islamic Movement in the world?

Iraq and Afghanistan will be remembered as the two battlefields that defanged the imperialist-Zionist beast. Putting aside the illusions of a Hollywood/
mass-media monopoly over the airwaves and information sources the fact of the matter is that the Islamic Republic of Iran wields more influence in Iraq than does the American imperium. After “I’m a Zionist” Joe Biden arrived in Iraq over the American 4th of July weekend, Baghdad’s Green Zone, which is supposed to be secured by the American leviathan was rattled with five mortar rounds and the cry “duck and cover.” This maximum security area that houses the one billion dollar, 100-acre US embassy-industrial complex — the world’s largest — cannot be shielded from the anti-Zionist and anti-imperialist salvos for justice coming from a Muslim population that will never cower to the illegitimate political siblings of the Zionist-imperialist Frankenstein.

Just a couple of decades ago, the Muslims of the world were willing to give the USA the benefit of the doubt. Not any longer. The government of the US is now evil incarnate. It is not hyperbole to say that two billion Muslims in the world concede the inevitability of a military showdown with the democracy-cum-military regime in Washington that has spread itself into all corners of the Islamic world with its military bases and corporate interests at the expense of one third of humanity, at least! When the US says, as an echo of the Israeli enemy, that it cannot live with an Iranian bomb while it lived with a Soviet bomb and a Chinese bomb, when the US says such things it proves that its hatred for Muslims and Islam is much more virulent than it was towards Marxists and Communism.

And then, as if to add insult to injury, we had the United Arab Emirates ambassador to the US come out and say what has always been concealed in official Arabdom, “A military attack on Iran by whomever would be a disaster, but Iran with a nuclear weapon would be a bigger disaster.” How did this ignoramus become an ambassador? Well, I take that back; it is the advanced buffoonery of such individuals that qualify them to become ambassadors. The diplomatic corps of the Arabian nation-states are stacked with equivalent morons. In this particular case and in the relaxed atmosphere of Aspen, Colorado, his excellency the ambassador may have had just one shot too many. Usually such official socialites are loosened up to drop their pants behind closed doors; but in this case the ambassador dropped his jaws.

Even when we shift our attention away from the military jungle we wind up watching animals living in a political and social jungle. Greek mythology lives on in the Zionist-imperialist strategy as they prepare for the clash of the titans.

This time though, contrary to their infatuation with their behemoth military buildup, David will, once again, slay Goliath.

Neocons beat drums of war against Islamic Iran By Zafar Bangash

The drums of war are once again getting louder in Washington. Led by the Zionist cabal and its neocon allies, American warmongers are itching for another war, this time against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Not satisfied with the blood-letting in Afghanistan and Iraq — two wars that have almost bankrupted America — the cabal and its allies are prepared to fight to the last American soldier to advance the agenda of their favourite country: Zionist Israel.

The cast of villains is all too familiar: Bill Kristol, Reuel Marc Gerecht, Norm Podhoretz, Richard Perle, Daniel Pipes, Ken “cakewalk” Adelman, Dick Cheney, John Bolton and a host of others that were responsible for pushing America into war against Iraq in 2003. They did so by peddling the lie that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). During testimony before the US Senate on November 8, 2002, Perle had boldly proclaimed that Iraq’s oil would pay for US war costs. Others, like then US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had predicted the war would last no more than two weeks and in any case, all American soldiers would be home in “less than six months.” Seven years later and a million Iraqi and 4,400 American dead, US troops are still there.

Just as those lies were lapped up and eagerly peddled by a pliant media in 2002-2003, even more fantastic lies are being spun against Islamic Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. On June 27, for instance, when CIA Director Leon Panetta estimated that it would take Iran approximately two years to build a nuclear bomb if it made the decision to do so (emphasis ours), the rightwing Wall Street Journal immediately pounced on this twisting the statement. The Journal proclaimed in a bold headline on June 29: “Iran stands barely two years from an atomic bomb that could target Israel, Europe and beyond.” The Zionists have peddled another, equally fantastic lie: Iran will make the bomb within a year. This they have claimed repeatedly since 1996. There are other variants of the same lie.

Similarly, o-vert racism is at work now as it was in the case of Iraq: other people’s lives are not worth a dime. The only lives that matter are those of the Zionists even if there is no apparent threat to them from anyone except themselves. It is not bombs and bullets that threaten the illegal Zion-ist entity; it will implode because of its own inner contradictions. The writing is on the wall. The Zionist entity is deeply racist and caste-ridden: the Ashkenazi Jews from Europe and North America sit at the top of the caste pyramid; Russian and East European Jews are next followed by the Sephardim and the Falashas. Palestinian Arabs — the only rightful inhabitants of the land — are treated as “fifth-class” citizens and denied even basic rights. Because of these inner contradictions and the oppressive environment, many young Jews are fleeing the country; they, especially those from Eastern Europe and Russia, who are essentially economic migrants, do not believe Israel is the promised utopia.

Unable to staunch the flow of young blood from occupied Palestine, the Zionists and their Washington allies want to have their death wish of perpetual wars. Since the Zionist entity can only survive by evoking fear and invoking the non-existent threat to its survival, they believe wars will delay the day of reckoning.

The Zionist warmongers and their neo-con allies also have their clients in the US Congress — Zionist occupied territory, according to Pat Buchanan, the conservative commentator. Nearly a third of the Republican members of the US House of Representatives, for instance, have signed onto a resolution, HR 1553, that provides explicit support for military strikes against Iran. The resolution, publicly discussed and circulated by its lead sponsor, Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) for months, states that Congress supports Israel’s use of “all means necessary” against Iran “including the use of military force”. This is nothing short of a declaration of war against a country that has not threatened the US or anyone else. If launched, it would constitute a war crime.

There are many walking in lock step with the drumbeat of war, including US President Barack Obama who signed into law additional new sanctions against Islamic Iran on July 1. These are in violation of and go beyond UN Security Council resolution 1929, passed on June 9 that while imposing additional sanctions, specifically called for renewed negotiations with Tehran. Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki announced on July 25 that the Islamic Republic of Iran was willing to enter into broad-based discussions about its nuclear program at the end of Ramadan (after September 10). On July 26, the EU and Canada also announced additional sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Canada wields little influence in Tehran; its annual trade is barely $312 million — less than peanuts — but its action reflects the virulent racism at work against the Islamic Republic. Irwin Cotler, a Canadian member of parliament and former justice minister, leads the campaign peddling the lie that President Ahmedinejad wants to “wipe Israel off the map”. Cotler is a well-known Zionist.

Both Russia and China have rejected additional US sanctions although their statements lack credibility because they look for their own interests and will not stand up for principles. Their vote in the Security Council was proof of this: they voted for an illegal resolution. Iran is entitled under NPT rules (to which it is a signatory) to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes. Nobody has been able to provide any evidence that it has diverted any of its low-grade uranium for military purposes. Even the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a body subservient to the US and the West in general, has not provided any proof beyond vague allegations against Iran.

There are other developments as well that point to US-Zionist collusion in stoking the flames of war. Soon after last June’s Security Council resolution, US, German, British and Israeli warships and submarines entered the Persian Gulf. On June 18, nuclear-armed Israeli submarines passed through the Suez Canal in a visible show of force and threats. The Egyptian regime’s acquiescence in such illegal acts of aggression points to Zionist-Egyptian-Saudi-American collusion in fighting Islamic revival and self-determination. On July 16, the Times of London reported that two Israeli missile class warships had also sailed through the Suez Canal and deployed into the Red Sea in preparation for a possible attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Last month, the Israeli Air Force conducted long-range exercises in the US and tested a missile defence shield at a US missile range in the Pacific Ocean. And on July 26, the Israeli daily, Haaretz, reported that Israeli Mossad chief, Meir Dagan had secretly visited Saudi Arabia for talks on Iran.

Despite such provocative acts and open threats, Israeli firsters like Bolton, the hawkish former US ambassador to the UN during the Bush era, has proposed that outsiders can “create broad support” for a strike against Iran by framing it as an issue of “Israel’s right to self defense”. Bolton’s defence of “pre-emptive strike” was augmented by the terrorist acts of CIA-backed and financed Jundullah that launched attacks inside a mosque in Zahedan on July 15. At least 27 worshippers were killed and scores injured when two suicide bombers exploded themselves. Jundullah claimed responsibility for the attacks saying they were in retaliation for the June 13 hanging of their leader, Abdulmalek Rigi. Rigi was captured last February while flying from Dubai to Bishkek, the Kyrgyz capital, to meet Richard Holbrooke, the US point man for Afghanistan and Pakistan. In 2007, Brian Ross of the US television network, ABC, had said that Jundullah was financed and trained by the CIA.

Not everyone, however, shares the neocons’ enthusiasm for war. US military leaders have warned that an attack against Iran could be catastrophic to US national security interests and could engulf the Middle East in a “calamitous” regional war. US Defence Secretary Robert Gates has argued, “Another war in the Middle East is the last thing we need. In fact, I believe it would be disastrous on a number of levels.” Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, has expressed his own reservations about an attack, saying, “Iran getting a nuclear weapon would be incredibly destabilizing. Attacking them would also create the same kind of outcome. In an area that’s so unstable right now, we just don’t need more of that.”

Will the Zionist cabal and its neocon allies be constrained by such warnings? If history is any guide, it is unlikely. They do not care for the interests of the US or anyone else; their mission is to carry out the Zionist agenda. On June 8, 1967, for instance, the Israelis had bombed the USS Liberty killing 34 American sailors and wounding 71 others in broad daylight in the Mediter-ranean during Israel’s onslaught on Egypt. Was Israel called to account? The entire episode was hushed up despite American military personnel being deliberately targeted and killed by the Zionists. They and their US allies have become far more powerful and bolder since then.

However, despite being at the height of their power and military advantage, they have to come to terms with a reality they have never had to deal with before: the impact of Islamic self-awareness on the future existence of the Zionist Israeli State. As America and Israel have begun to lose their grip on the Arab and Muslim world, the most immediate political and military problem in the world today is that the State of Israel is dying. Ordinarily, for the Muslim world in particular, and the larger world in general, this would not be such a bad thing. But the Zionist monsters have threatened to take the whole world with them if their “security” is compromised in any way. In addition to open threats against the Europeans who have been trying to warm up to Iran for economic and energy reasons, the Israelis have been sending subliminal messages to all the power centers in the world.

To the American president, they have shown with the “White House Party Crashers” incident that they can breach the chief executive’s security anytime they want. Through their powerful lobbies, they have shown that they own the US Congress, and further by selling staging technology to the Chinese in the early 1990s for their ICBMs, they are showing the Ameri-cans, should they even think of getting out of line, that they can bring other parts of the world up to military parity in a hurry. With the successful forging of passports, they have shown the Euro-peans that all the effort and finances they have put into improved security measures are useless. Gilad Atzmon, the famous Israeli rejectionist, argues that the credit crunch is in fact a Zio-punch to the world financial system. And finally to would-be third world power centers, they have shown through food and energy speculation — when wheat and corn prices shot up by over 100% and when oil prices jumped to $150 per barrel — that they can bring them to their knees without hardly flinching.

But all of these signals, causing panic among their Western sponsors, are having no impact on resurgent Muslims. The Israelis know that they cannot handle a conventional war against Islamic Iran or even against Hizbullah. In the event of a war, military analysts suggest that the sheer volume and accuracy of Hizbullah’s M600 and Iran’s Shahab-3 surface-to-air and surface-surface missiles will overwhelm Israel’s air defenses (anti-missile missle systems such as the Patriot) and disrupt their air force bases.

This means that Israel, in order to survive, will have to use nuclear weapons. This is problematic for several reasons. First of all Iran has Russian and Chinese citizens working on their nuclear and energy facilities — killing them may initiate a world war. Second, if Israel cares about its own cities as much as it says, it would never nuke Gaza or Southern Lebanon. The resulting nuclear fallout would be pretty devastating. In fact, Israel possesses all those atomic bombs because it insists on keeping the rest of the world in a constant threat. Again, according to Gilad Atzmon, “…and this is the crux of the matter. We are dealing here with a lethal collective that is driven by deadly psychosis against humanity…”

Contrary to whatever its image-manufacturing spin machine in the media says, most Israelis-in-the-know are aware that Israel’s security zone is shrinking. As more Islamic representative governments take over in the surrounding sea of Muslims (Turkey and Iran are examples; Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon are not far behind), they are likely to come together on a common cause to push the Zionist cancer into the sea. For Israel to have any hope of short-term survival, it must pull America into its war on Iran. America has no stomach for another war in the Islamic East; to draw it in, not only does the Islamic Republic have to be demonized as the genesis of a worldwide takeover of Christendom by an Islamic caliphate, but a catalytic event on the order of 9/11 is required.

Recall that during the buildup to Oslo, the State of Israel’s foot dragging and behind-the-scenes intrigue was seen as the major obstacle to peace in the Holy Land and world opinion began to turn against it — then the first attempt to bring down the World Trade Center occurred in 1993. Oslo was finished. After Durban I, the conference against racism in 2001, the State of Israel was labeled a racist, settler, apartheid state, and again favorable world opinion for Israel crumbled — then 9/11 coincidentally occurred and Israel once again escaped the retributive justice of the world community. And now after the Mavi Marmarra incident, Israeli impetuousness that thumbs its nose at any international standards of behavior has once again isolated Israel in world opinion.

World opinion, especially in Europe and America, has historically been Israel’s greatest asset. And so the time is right for another engineered 9/11 that is blamed on the Muslims of Iran. Look for either an attack on US soil — of a biological or chemical variety on some US city, or a limited yield nuclear explosion at some place like Disney World — or a Gulf of Tonkin-style attack on a US warship that kills hundreds of US soldiers in the Persian Gulf.

Despite warnings of dire consequences from think tanks such as Brookings Institution’s Saban Centre and Oxford Research Group relating to an attack on Iran, the Zionists and US neocons appear determined to plunge the US into another war. America is already on the verge of bankruptcy; its military has been badly mauled in Iraq and Afghanistan but the Zionist cabal wants to see more American servicemen die, all ostensibly to save the sinking ship of Zionism.

"Al-Ghadir" and its Relevance to Islamic Unity

Ayatullah Murtaza Mutahhari
Translated by Mojgan Jalali

The distinguished book entitled "al-Ghadir" has raised a huge wave in the world of Islam. Islamic thinkers shed light on the book in different perspectives; in literature, history, theology, tradition, tafsir, and sociology. From the social perspective we can deal with the Islamic unity. In this review the Islamic unity has been dealt with from a social point of view.

Contemporary Muslim thinkers and reformists are of the view that unity and solidarity of Muslims are the most imperative Islamic exigencies at the present juncture when the enemies have made extensive inroads upon the Islamic community and have tried to resort to different ways and means to spread the old differences and create new ones. We are aware that Islamic unity and fraternity is the focus of attention of the Holy Legislator of Islam and is actually the major objective pursued by this Divine religion as firmed by the Qur'an, the "Sunnah", and the history of Islam.

For this reason, some people have been faced with this question: Wouldn't the compilation and publication of a book such as "al-Ghadir" which deals with the oldest issue of differences among the Muslims- create a barrier in the way of the sublime and lofty objective of the Islamic unity?

To answer this question, it is necessary first to elucidate the essence of this issue, that is, the Islamic unity, and then proceed to examine the role of the magnum opus entitled "al-Ghadir" and its eminent compiler 'Allamah Amini in bringing about Islamic unity.

Islamic Unity

What is meant by the Islamic unity? Does it mean that one Islamic school of thought should be unanimously followed and others be set aside? Or does it mean that the commonalties of all Islamic schools of thought should be taken up and their differences be put away to make up a new denomination which is not completely the same as the previous ones? Or does it mean that Islamic unity is in no way related to the unity of the different schools of Fiqh (jurisprudence) but signifies the unity of the Muslims and the unity of the followers of different schools of Fiqh, with their different religious ideas and views, vis-a-vis the aliens?

To give an illogical and impractical meaning to the issue of the Islamic unity, the opponents of the issue have called it to be the formation of a single Madhhab, so as to defeat it in the very first step. Without doubt, by the term Islamic unity, the intellectual Islamic 'Ulama' (scholars) do not mean that all denominations should give in to one denomination or that the commonalties should be taken up and the different views and ideas be set aside, as these are neither rational and logical nor favorable and practical. By the Islamic unity these scholars mean that all Muslims should unite in one line against their common enemies.

These scholars slate that Muslims have many things in common, which can serve as the foundations of a firm unity. All Muslims worship the One Almighty and believe in the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet (s). The Qur'an is the Book of all Muslims and Ka'abah is their "qiblah" (direction of prayer). They go to "hajj" pilgrimage with each other and perform the "hajj" rites and rituals like one another. They say the daily prayers and fast like each other. They establish families and engage in transactions like one another. They have similar ways of bringing up their children and burying their dead. Apart from minor affairs, they share similarities in all the aforementioned cases. Muslims also share one kind of world view, one common culture, and one grand, glorious, and long-standing civilization.

Unity in the world view, in culture, in the civilization, in insight and disposition, in religious beliefs, in acts of worship and prayers, in social rites and customs can well turn the Muslim into a unified nation to serve as a massive and dominant power before which the big global powers would have to bow down. This is especially true in view of the stress laid by Islam on this principle. According to the explicit wording of the Qur'an, the Muslims are brothers, and special rights and duties link them together. So, why shouldn't the Muslims use all these extensive facilities accorded to them as the blessing of Islam?

This group of 'Ulama' are of the view that there is no need for the Muslims to make any compromise on the primary or secondary principles of their religion for the sake of Islamic unity. Also it is not necessary for the Muslims to avoid engaging in discussions and reasons and writing books on primary and secondary principles about which they have differences. The only consideration for Islamic unity in this case is that the Muslims- in order to avoid the emergence or accentuation of vengeance - preserve their possession, avoid insulting and accusing each other and uttering fabrications, abandon ridiculing the logic of one another, and finally abstain from hurting one another and going beyond the borders of logic and reasoning. In fact, they should, at least, observe the limits which Islam has set forth for inviting non-Muslims to embrace it:

"Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good exhortation, and have disputations with them in the best manner... "(16: 125)

Some people are of the view that those schools of fiqh, such as, Shafi'i and Hanafi which have no differences in principle should establish brotherhood and stand in one line. They believe that denominations which have differences in the principles can in no way be brothers. This group view the religious principles as an interconnected set as termed by scholars of Usul, as an interrelated and interdependent set; any damage to one principle harms all principles.

As a result, those who believe in this principle are of the view that when, for instance, the principle of "imamah" is damaged and victimized, unity and fraternity will bear no meaning and for this reason the Shi'ah and the Sunnis cannot shake hands as two Muslim brothers and be in the same rank, no matter who their enemy is.

The first group answers this group by saying: "There is no reason for us to consider the principles as an interrelated set and follow the principle of "all or none". Imam 'Ali ('a) chose a very logical and reasonable approach. He left no stone unturned to retrieve his right. He used everything within his power to restore the principle of "imamah", but he never adhered to the motto of "all or none". 'Ali ('a) did not rise up for his right, and that was not compulsory. On the contrary, it was a calculated and chosen approach. He did not fear death. Why didn't he rise up? There could have been nothing above martyrdom. Being killed for the cause of the Almighty was his ultimate desire. He was more intimate with martyrdom than a child is with his mother's breast. But in his sound calculations, Imam 'All ('a) had reached the conclusion that under the existing conditions it was to the interest of Islam to foster collaboration and cooperation among the Muslims and give up revolt. He repeatedly stressed this point.

In one of his letters (No.62 "Nahj al Balaghah") to Malik al-Ashtar, he wrote the following:

"First I pulled back my hand until I realized that a group of people converted from Islam and invited the people toward annihilating the religion of Muhammad(s). So I feared that if I did not rush to help Islam and the Muslims, I would see gaps or destruction which calamity would be far worse than the several-day-long demise of caliphate."

In the six-man council, after appointment of 'Uthman by 'Abdul-Rahman ibn 'Awf, 'Ali ('a) set forth his objection as well as his readiness for collaboration as follows:"

You well know that I am more deserving than others for caliphate. But now by Allah, so long as the affairs of the Muslims are in order and my rivals suffice with setting me aside and only I am alone subjected to oppression, I will not oppose (the move) and will give in (to it)." (From Sermon 72, "Nahj al- Balaghah").

These indicate that in this issue 'Ali ('a) condemned the principle of "all or none". There is no need to further elaborate the approach taken by 'Ali ('a) toward this issue. There are ample historical proofs and reasons in this regard.

'Allamah Amini

Now it is time to see to which group the eminent 'Allamah, Ayatullah Amini - the distinguished compiler of the "al-Ghadir" - belonged and how he thought. Did he approve of the unity of the Muslims only within the light of Shi'ism? Or did he consider Islamic fraternity to be broader? Did he believe that Islam which is embraced by uttering the "shahadatayn" (the Muslim creed) would willy-nilly create some rights for the Muslims and that the brotherhood and fraternity set forth in the Qur'an exists among all Muslims?

'Allamah Amini personally considered this point - i.e. the need to elucidate his viewpoint on this subject and elaborate whether "al-Ghadir" has a positive or a negative role in (the establishment of) Islamic unity. In order not to be subject to abuse by his opponent - be they among the pros and cons - he has repeatedly explained and elucidated his views.

'Allamah Amini supported Islamic unity and viewed an open mind and clear insight. On different occasions, he set forth this matter in various volumes of the "al-Ghadir'. Reference will be made to some of them below:

In the preface to volume I, he briefly mentions the role of "al-Ghadir" in the world of Islam. He states: "And we consider all this as service to religion, sublimation of the word of the truth, and restoration of the Islamic 'ummah' (community)."

In volume 3 (page 77), after quoting the fabrications of Ibn Taymiyah, Alusi, and Qasimi to the effect that Shi 'ism is hostile to some of the Ahl al-Bayt (the Household of the Prophet) such as Zayd bin 'Ali bin al-Huseyn, he notes the following under the title of "Criticism and Correction":

"These fabrications and accusations sow the seeds of corruption, stir hostilities among the 'ummah', create discord among the Islamic community, divide the 'ummah', and clash with the public interests of the Muslims.

Again in volume 3 (page 268), he quotes the accusation leveled on the Shi'ahs by Sayyid Muhammad Rashid Rida to the effect that "Shi'ahs are pleased with any defeat incurred by Muslims, so much as they celebrated the victory of the Russians over the Muslims." Then he says:

"These falsehoods are fabricated by persons like Sayyid Muhammad Rashid Rida. The Shi'ahs of Iran and Iraq against whom this accusation is leveled, as well as the orientalists, tourists, envoys of Islamic countries, and those who traveled and still travel to Iran and Iraq, have no information about this trend. Shi'ahs, without exception, respect the lives, blood, reputation, and property of the Muslims be they Shi'ahs or Sunnis. Whenever a calamity has befallen the Islamic community anywhere, in any region, and for any sects, the Shi'ahs have shared their sorrow. The Shi'ahs have never been confined to the Shi'ah world, the (concept of) Islamic brotherhood which has been set forth in the Qur'an and the 'sunnah' (the Prophet's sayings and actions), and in this respect, no discrimination has been made between the Shi'ahs and the Sunnis."

Also at the close of volume 3, he criticizes several books penned by the ancients such as "Iqd al-Farid" by Ibn Abd al-Rabbih, "al-Intisar" by Abu al-Husayn Khayyat al-Mu'tazili, "al Farq bayn al-Firaq" by Abu Mansur al-Baghdadi, "al-Fasl" by Ibn Hazm al-Andulusi, "al-Milal wa al-Nihal" by Muhammad ibn Abdul-Karim al-Shahristani "Minhaj al-Sunnah" by Ibn Taymiah and "al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah" by Ibn Kathir and several by the later writers such as "Tarikh al-Umam al-Islamiyyah" by Shaykh Muhammad Khizri, "Fajr al Islam" by Ahmad Amin, "al-Jawlat fi Rubu al-Sharq al-Adna" by Muhammad Thabit al-Mesri, "al-Sira Bayn al-Islam wa al-Wathaniyah" by Qasimi, and "al- Washi'ah" by Musa Jarallah. Then he states the following:

"By quoting and criticizing these books, we aim at warning and awakening the Islamic 'ummah' (to the fact) that these books create the greatest danger for the Islamic community, they destabilize the Islamic unity and scatter the Muslim lines. In fact nothing can disrupt the ranks of the Muslims, destroy their unity, and tear their Islamic fraternity more severely than these books."

'Allamah Amini, in the preface to volume 5, under title of "Nazariyah Karimah" on the occasion of a plaque of honor forwarded from Egypt for "al-Ghadir", clearly sets forth his view on this issue and leaves no room for any doubt. He remarks:

"People are free to express views and ideas on religion. These (views and ideas) will never tear apart the bond of Islamic brotherhood to which the holy Qur'an has referred by stating that 'surely the believers are brethren'; even though academic discussion and theological and religious debates reach a peak. This has been the style of the predecessors, and of the 'sahaba' and the 'tabi'un', at the head of them.

"Notwithstanding all the differences that we have in the primary and secondary principles, we, the compilers and writers in nooks and corners of the world of Islam, share a common point and that is belief in the Almighty and His Prophet. A single spirit and one (form of) sentiment exists in all our bodies, and that is the spirit of Islam and the term 'ikhlas,"

"We, the Muslim compilers, all live under the banner of truth and carry out our duties under the guidance of the Qur'an and the Prophetic Mission of the Holy Prophet (s). The message of all of us is 'Surely the (true) religion with Allah is Islam ... (3:18)' and the slogan of all of us is 'There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger.' Indeed, we are (the members of) the party of Allah and the supporters of his religion.

In the preface to volume 8, under the title of "al-Ghadir Yowahhad al-Sufuf fil-Mila al-Islami", 'Allamah Amini directly makes researches into the role of "Al- Ghadir" in (the establishment of) Islamic unity. In this discussion, this great scholar categorically rejects the accusations leveled by those who said: 'Al-Ghadir' causes greater discord among the Muslims. He proves that, on the contrary, "Al-Ghadir" removes many misunderstandings and brings the Muslims closer to one another. Then he brings evidence by mentioning the confessions of the non-Shi'i Islamic scholars. At the close, he quotes the letter of Shaykh Muhammad Saeed Dahduh written in this connection.

To avoid prolongation of this article, we will not quote and translate the entire statements of 'Allamah Amini in explaining the positive role of "al-Ghadir" in (establishing) Islamic unity, since what has already been mentioned sufficiently proves this fact.

The positive role of "al-Ghadir" is established by the facts that it firstly clarifies the proven logic of the Shi'ahs and proves that the inclination of Muslims to Shi'ism - notwithstanding the poisonous publicity of some people - is not due to political, ethnic, or other trends and considerations. It also verifies that a powerful logic based on the Qur'an and the "sunnah" has given rise to this tendency.

Secondly, it reflects that some accusations leveled on Shi'ism - which have made other Muslims distanced from the Shi'ah- are totally baseless and false. Examples of these accusations are the notion that the Shi'ites prefer the non-Muslims to the non- Shi'i Muslims, rejoice at the defeat of non-Shi'ite Muslims at the hands of non-Muslims, and other accusations such as the idea that instead of going to hajj pilgrimage, the Shi'ahs go on pilgrimage to shrines of the Imams, or have particular rites in prayers and in temporary marriage.

Thirdly, it introduces to the world of Islam the eminent Commander of the faithful 'Ali ('a) who is the most oppressed and the least praised grand Islamic personality and who could be the leader of all Muslims, as well as his pure offspring.

Other Comments on "al-Ghadir"

Many unbiased non-Shia Muslims interpret the "al-Ghadir" in the same way that has already been mentioned.

Muhammad Abdul-Ghani Hasan al-Mesri, in his foreword on "al-Ghadir", which has been published in the preface to volume I, second edition, states:

"I call on the Almighty to make your limpid brook (in Arabic, 'Ghadir' means brook) the cause of peace and cordiality between the Shia and Sunni brothers to cooperate with one another in building the Islamic "ummah."

'Adil Ghadban, the managing editor of the Egyptian magazine entitled "al-Kitab", said the following in the preface to volume 3:

"This book clarifies the Shi'ite logic. The Sunnis can correctly learn about the Shi'i through this book. Correct recognition of the Shi'ahs brings the views of the Shi'ahs and the Sunnis closer, and they can make a unified rank".

In his foreword to the "al-Ghadir" which was published in the preface to volume 4, Dr. Muhammad Ghallab, professor of philosophy at the Faculty of Religious Studies al-Azhar University said:

"I got hold of your book at a very opportune time, because right now I am busy collecting and compiling a book on the lives of the Muslims from various perspectives. Therefore, I am highly avid for obtaining sound information about 'Imamiyah' Shi'ism. Your book will help me. And I will not make mistakes about the Shi'ahs as others have".

In this foreword published in the preface to volume 4 of the "al-Ghadir", Dr. 'Abdul-Rahman Kiali Halabi says the following after referring to the decline of the Muslims in the present age and the factors which can lead to the Muslims' salvation, one of which is the sound recognition of the successor of the Holy Prophet (s):

"The book entitled "al-Ghadir" and its rich content deserves to be known by every Muslim to learn how historians have been negligent and see where the truth lies. Through this means, we should compensate for the past, and by striving to foster the unity of the Muslims, we should try to gain the due rewards".

These were the views of 'Allamah Amini about the important social issues of our age and such were his sound reflections in the world of Islam.

Peace be upon him.

The Imam’s life and legacy

June 3rd marks the 21st anniversary of Imam Khomeini’s passing into heavenly company. Amid his many achievements was the success of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, establishing the first Islamic state in modern times. We reproduce an abridged version of Zafar Bangash’s foreword in the latest book, Imam Khomeini: A Leader of Principle and Purpose, published by Crescent International for the Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought.

Three factors are essential for the Islamic movement to bring about change in society: an accurate understanding of the situation in which it operates; clarity about the goal it wishes to pursue; and, the process through which this would be achieved. This is also the lesson we learn from the Sirah of the noble Messenger of Allah (r) when he proclaimed the message of Islam, first in Makkah and later in Madinah. He was absolutely clear about the jahili nature of society in Makkah, indeed the entire Arabian Peninsula and beyond, and refused to compromise with it. He set out to challenge and demolish it and replace it with a system based on Islamic principles and values.

The process for this change was the mobilization of a group of people that were totally committed to bringing change in society regardless of the price they would have to pay. And they did. At the end of the life of the noble Messenger of Allah (r) on earth, Islam had not only spread throughout the Arabian Peninsula, but an Islamic state had also been established and consolidated. It started in Madinah but expanded both east and west ultimately encompassing the entire Arabian Peninsula during his lifetime. The Prophet’s (r) successors expanded the Islamic domain to virtually the entire known world, spreading as far as Central Asia and China and into parts of Europe. This is the model Muslims have followed throughout history.

In the Muslims’ contemporary history, there have been numerous movements that have struggled to bring about change in their respective societies. Some have subsumed their struggle under the label of nationalism while others have openly proclaimed that they wish to implement Islamic laws in society, yet with the exception of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, none of the other movements has succeeded. What sets the Islamic movement in Iran apart from others, such as al-Ikhwan al-Muslimoon (Muslim Brotherhood) in Egypt and Jamaat-e Islami in Pakistan or movements inspired by their thought and method? Numerous reasons can be advanced for the lack of success of these movements — and there are elements of truth in all of them — but it needs emphasizing that no movement succeeds without struggle and sacrifice. It is not in the sunnah of Allah (Â) to not test His faithful servants: this was the case with all the Messengers and Prophets of Allah (Å) and continues to be the case with those that have made a faith-commitment to Allah (Â). He makes clear in the noble Book:

Do people think that when they say, “we make a faith commitment to Allah,” that they would not be tested with trials and tribulations? Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah distinguishes those that are sincere [in their commitment to Him] and those that merely feign and lie [about their commitment] (29:2–3).

Thus challenges and trials and tribulations are part of the struggle that committed Muslims must endure in order to achieve the goal of implementing Islam in society. Both the Ikhwan and the Jamaat-e Islami were endowed with charismatic leaders although they did not achieve the stature of Imam Khomeini. The Ikhwan and the Jamaat also had well-thought-out programs but because they frequently made erroneous assumptions, success eluded them and continues to do so today.

What we can say with confidence is that Islamic movements cannot gain power by participating in elections organized under the prevalent jahili systems in Muslim societies. The experience of the Ikhwan (in Egypt), the Jamaat (in Pakistan), the Islamic Salvation Front (in Algeria) and many others that operate as Islamic political parties confirms this. Some may cite the successes of Hamas and Hizbullah to assert that participation in electoral politics under existing systems can bring positive results. It needs pointing out that their conditions are rather different. Their lands and societies are under direct foreign military occupation. They are forced to make difficult choices. Should they deal with the external enemy or tackle the internal situation first? The choices facing them are not pleasant and both carry grave risks.

The news of Imam Khomeini’s death on June 3, 1989 was marked by extreme grief both in Iran as well as outside. Millions of people in Iran participated in his funeral procession in Tehran while tens of millions of others around the country were grief-stricken. While an estimated three million people had welcomed the Imam on February 1, 1979 when he returned from 15 years in exile, more than 10 million people participated in his funeral prayers in Tehran in the scorching summer heat. The authorities in Iran had to urge people from outside Tehran not to come because facilities in the capital were stretched to breaking point. The scenes at his funeral, as witnessed on television, were heartbreaking.

What these demonstrated clearly was that the Imam lived in people’s hearts. He had earned their trust and confidence through self-sacrifice and denial of worldly pleasures. He was bold and courageous but above all, he had unshakable faith in Allah (Â) and His promised help. The people knew that he was a leader of exceptional qualities but he lived a life that was very close to that of ordinary people in Iran. They also knew that he had no personal ambitions in life beyond adhering to the commands of Allah (Â) and eliminating injustice from the face of the earth. These are the attributes of a truly great leader. This, however, is only one dimension of his multifaceted personality.

Imam Khomeini came from a deeply intellectual tradition. From a very early age, he was immersed in the study of ‘irfan (gnosis) and mysticism. His interest in fiqh was aroused much later. It was clear even in his early life that he was deeply troubled by the injustices in society and he reflected on the causes of such malaise. He began to raise and discuss these issues at a relatively young age despite being quite junior in the hierarchical structure of the ‘ulama in Iran. But he was careful not to overstep his authority in the presence of senior figures. It was later when he had reached a more senior position that he began to express his views more forcefully, leading to his arrest by the Shah’s regime and ultimately exile from Iran in 1963. Exile, however, did not deter him from speaking out, and thus he attracted large audiences. There was a yearning among people searching for a leader with courage, knowledge and charisma. They found their ideal in Imam Khomeini.

There are many dimensions of Imam Khomeini’s personality. It is regrettable that apart from Professor Hamid Algar, perhaps the greatest authority on the Imam, there have not been many scholars that have paid adequate attention to the Imam’s intellectual contribution in numerous fields. Most Muslims around the world became familiar with the Imam’s writings and works through the pioneering efforts of Professor Algar and through the writings of the late Dr. Kalim Siddiqui in the Crescent International. In Tehran, there is also an Institute established for the Compilation of the Works of Imam Khomeini. While it has done some good work, it is largely confined to literature in Farsi and perhaps some material in Arabic. The English works produced by the Institute are of questionable quality.

What is needed is a team of dedicated researchers to concentrate on the writings and declarations of Imam Khomeini to make the rest of the world aware of them. There is a great deal about his intellectual contribution that is unknown to most people. Unless these works are properly researched, analysed and discussed, the world would remain unaware of Imam Khomeini’s contribution in many fields. Even his widely known achievement — leading the Islamic movement to bring about an Islamic revolution in Iran — is not properly understood; even many Muslims do not understand and hence do not appreciate it fully. Some of it is undoubtedly the result of negative propaganda in the western media, and even within the Muslim world financed and supported by such regimes as those in Saudi Arabia or Iraq under Saddam. The West’s animosity toward the Imam is based on the loss it suffered in Iran. He overthrew the West’s favourite puppet and demolished the Western-imposed exploitative order there. This was a major blow to Western interests. This the West could not tolerate, hence the incessant hostile propaganda and negative portrayal of the Imam. They could hardly be expected to extol his virtues. The Islamic State of Iran continues to be viewed with great hostility even today precisely because it refuses to surrender to the West, unlike other regimes in the Muslim world.

The western media’s hostile propaganda is one dimension of the problem. In fact it is confirmation of the fact that the Imam had embarked on a course that was viewed by imperialism and Zionism, the two leading sources of zulm in the world today, as a challenge to their exploitative and anti-human policies. But what explains the hostility of such states as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq under Saddam? These bastions of Arabism are illegitimate entities that were created by western colonialists to serve their interests. The Imam’s successful struggle against the Shah, who was in the mould of all these other rulers, by bringing about an Islamic revolution exposed them completely. This was especially true in the case of Saudi Arabia whose rulers had wrapped themselves in the mantle of custodians of the Two Holy Cities. Muslims worldwide were forced to ask: how could the custodians of the Haramayn be subservient to the kafirs, especially the US, a sworn enemy of Islam?

The hostile propaganda against the Imam was confirmation that his mission was dedicated to the service of Allah (Â). But such propaganda does not fully explain the lack of knowledge among Muslims and other people about the Imam’s immense contribution in such diverse fields as the understanding of the Qur’an, hadith, ‘irfan, fiqh, theology, Muslim political thought, etc. In any case, we should not give too much credit to the Saudis and their ability to influence events in the Muslim world. What is truly lacking is the will and a well-thought-out plan to study the Imam’s contribution. This is an area that awaits serious consideration and attention.

The Islamic Republic commemorates the Imam’s anniversary each year. Guests are invited from all over the world. Papers are presented and conferences held. The commemoration ceremonies culminate in a huge rally at the Imam’s mausoleum in the Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery. Why has a committee of scholars not been appointed and provided facilities to undertake serious research into the writings and thought of the Imam? It serves little purpose to produce numerous volumes of questionable quality and assume that this is all that is required. True, people continue to have deep attachment to the memory of the Imam more than two decades after his departure from this world but his intellectual contribution is of a much higher order and needs to be addressed at the proper level.

This would provide important lessons for the global Islamic movement. It is through the process of learning from our successes as well as failures that we would be able to better tackle the challenges confronting us.

Yazid bin Muawiya Remembered in Makkah

11th May 2007, in his Friday sermon from the holy city of Makkah, a few feet from the door of the Ka'bah, where the consciousness of the presence of Allah should be felt at heart, the leader of the congregation emphasised the need for being bound by an allegiance to an "Imam" (a ruler) even if he is vicious. He claimed that the Prophet has said, whoever dies without being bound by an allegiance to an "Imam" (a ruler), dies the death of ignorance. On 11th May 2007, in his Friday sermon from the holy city of Makkah, a few feet from the door of the Ka'bah, where the consciousness of the presence of Allah should be felt at heart, the leader of the congregation emphasised the need for being bound by an allegiance to an "Imam" (a ruler) even if he is vicious. He claimed that the Prophet has said, whoever dies without being bound by an allegiance to an "Imam" (a ruler), dies the death of ignorance.

Even if the "Imam" is unjust and tyrannical, the believers must obey him as Ibn Taymiyyah (the guru of the Wahhabis) has required. He said, they can advise the "Imam" and guide him!!!

Quoting Abdullah ibn Umar's hadiths in Sahih Muslim, he said that when people wanted to rise against Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah, he stopped them because the Prophet had prohibited breaking the pledge given to an "Imam". When a companion wanted to rise against Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah, in the incidence of Hurra, Abdullah ibn Umar warned him that pledges are not given to be broken and that he had heard the Prophet saying that if anyone dies without being bound by an allegiance, dies the death of ignorance.

Hence, according to the Wahhabite rationale, allegiance to Yazid was a requirement of the Shari'ah! The leader of the congregation did not explain, what would be the position of those who broke the allegiance given in Ghadir? He did not explain why didn't Abdullah ibn Umar remember these alleged hadiths of the Prophet when he himself did not pay oath of allegiance to Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, but felt the need to pay allegiance to a corrupt, irreligious and fasiq ruler like Yazid, who was imposed on the Muslims by his father. He did not explain what about the widely narrated mutawatir hadith of the Prophet which says "there is no obedience to the creatures in disobedience to Allah"? He did not explain that in the incidence of Hurra many Companions of the Prophet in Madina were slaughtered and thousands of their virgin daughters were rapped by the troopers of Yazid. To remain indifferent to a massacre of such a magnitude was like writing off the religious values that the Messenger of Allah (SAWW) had brought. But this is precisely the leader of the congregation was advising the worshippers.

May Allah bless you all.

but i think before passing any comment we should must consult the sayings of the prophet (S.A.W). as a matter of fact amir muawiya was the katib-e-wahi. so there is possibility of being detraped. as for as the matter of yazid and Imam Hussain is concerned. i thinkk that we have loaded things on it and shaped it just to tell the story like. according to a hadith of Bukhari the happy news of jannah is for a person who took part in a holly war. and that war was led by yazid. we say all this b coz we have no habit to study. so we should think before passing any comment.

qaisar maan, here's wishing you a speedy journey to the abode of your imams muawiya, yazeed, abdullah ibne umar, sahih bukhari, and i might as well add shimr, ibne ziad, khalifas of the clans bani umayya and bani abbas and infant killer hurmala (according to your logic he too participated in the 'holy war' ) not to mention zakir naik, israr ahmed, benjamin netanyahu, george w bush, saudi khalifas etc. Good for you! You seem to be of the same creed as that of the above shaitaans and their and your ancestor iblees. And to my logic your heaven must be the burning fire hell where you would be most blissful because thats where you all come from and that's where you belong.
As for us we hope to go to the jannah of our leaders our Imams the Ahlul Bait. Vastly different from your jannah. Wouldn't you say.
Bon Voyage!

The beloved Muslims of Prophet & His Ahlulbait should not be worried about these types of irrational and non- acceptable remarks, beliefs and having affections towards the killers or the destroyers of the true commandments of Allah & His Prophet's blood(Ahlulbait). This shows that how ignorance has penetrated within selves who have left Ahlulbait as their forefathers did.

" History and blood both speaks about their origins"

The true lovers of Prophet and Ahlulbait need to discourage all these ill - natured remarks through unity among the Muslims.

Dear Qaisar Maan

It is not Yazid who participated in the first naval force but it was his father Muáwiya (Radhiallaahu Anhu) during the Caliphate of Usman (Radhiallaahu Anhu).
In fact it is reported in Bukhari Shareef that Rasool Allah (S.A.W) said: 'The first army that will fight a naval battle in my Ummah will have made Jannat compulsory on themselves.' The first naval force was in fact headed by Muáwiya (Radhiallaahu Anhu) during the Caliphate of Usman (Radhiallaahu Anhu).

It is not Yazid who participated in the first naval force but it was his father Muáwiya (Radhiallaahu Anhu) during the Caliphate of Usman (Radhiallaahu Anhu).

As early as 668 the Caliph Muawiyah I (Radhiallaahu Anhu) sent an army under his son Yazid against the Eastern Roman Empire. Yazid reached as far as Chalcedon and took the important Byzantine center Amorion. Although the city was quickly recovered, the Arabs next attacked Carthage and Sicily in 669. In 670 the Arabs captured Cyzicus and set up a base from which to launch further attacks into the heart of the Empire. Their fleet captured Smyrna and other coastal cities in 672. Finally, in 672, the Arabs sent a large fleet to attack Constantinople by sea. While Constantine was diverted by this, the Slavs unsuccessfully attacked Thessalonika.
Constantinople survived the Arab siege until 678, when the Byzantines employed Greek fire against the Arab fleet at the Battle of Syllaeum in Pamphylia. This was one of the first times Greek fire was used in combat. The Arabs withdrew, and were almost simultaneously defeated on land in Lycia in Anatolia.

SALAM ALAIKUM RAHMATULLAHI WA BARKATUHU

DEAR READERS

REGARDING YAZID WE ASK OURSELVES THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

1. YAZID CONSPIRED TO KILL HAZRAT IMAM HUSSAIN (Radhiallaahu Anhu) WHEN HAZRAT IMAM HUSSAIN (Radhiallaahu Anhu) WANTED TO PERFORM HAJ. DO WE RESPECT YAZID FOR THIS??

2. AS PER KALAM-E-PAK ( QURAN ) ALLAH SAID HE IS THE ENEMY OF THOSE WHO HURT FAMILY OF RASOOL ALLAH (S.A.W.). ALLAH ALSO SAID HE IS WITH THOSE WHO RESPECT RASOOL ALLAH (S.A.W) AND HIS FAMILY.
SHOULD WE RESPECT YAZID AND EARN ENIMITY WITH ALLAH?

3. YAZID CAUSED NOT TO GIVE AZAN IN MASJID NABVI FOR 3 DAYS, HIS ARMY TIED HORSES IN MASJID NABVI AND AT MAZAR-E-MUBARAK OF RASOOL ALLAH (S.A.W) HORSES DUNG AND URINE WAS PASSED IN MASJID NABVI AND AT MAZAR-E-MUBARAK. YAZID'S ARMY AT MADINA KILLED MORE THAN 10,000 SAHABA.
STILL SHOULD WE RESPECT YAZID?

4. YAZID SENT HIS ARMY FROM MADINA TO MECCA THERE THEY DAMAGED KABETULLAH SHERIEF BURNT THE CLOTH OF KABA. ATTACK ON MECCA IS FORBIDDEN BY ALLAH.

STILL SHOULD WE RESPECT YAZID???????????????????????????

Disgusting Shias...they curse everyone except the family of the Prophet. They consider Ali (RA), Hasan (RA), Husain (RA) as the so called "Imams" which according to their complicated and Sabaite definition means equivalent to "Prophet" Disgusting Shias cursed even by Ali (RA) and Hasan (RA). Disgusting Shias who betrayed Husain (RA) at Karbala and today make a great and false show of the Jaahil custom of Mourning...I wonder if they even think of anything other than Ahle Bait.

Mr, Ali Hyder, these are quite harsh remarks passed by u. I think putting blames on each other we should try to learn more about our history and the people who changed the shape of our history effecting till to date. The difference is very clear that u can only curse shias but never any of our Imams. Remember these are the descendants of your and my prophet. But on other hand we can criticize your caliphs and kings because of their deeds and the role they played in damaging Islam .

Although I've read most of the authentic books on Islam ,written by the prominent Sunnis and Shi'ite Scholars and also about the people who played main roles in its construction or destruction, what has emerged is a "NO WIN SITUATION" where the believers on both sides are reluctant to accept each other views on the most controversial issues. There're numerous traditions of Prophet of Islam quoted in Sunni books, if accepted by the Sunnis, they will condemn their claim that Mr Abibakar, Umar and Uthaman had any right on claphate. What's needed, at this juncture, is an impartial obserbation as to what the NON-ISLAMIC historian say about the issues.

The Succession to Muhammad is a book written by Wilfred Made lung released by the Cambridge University Press in 1977. He writes in pages 309-310; " In the face of fake Umayyad claim to legitimate sovereignty in Islam as God's Vicegerents on earth, and in view of Umayyad treachery, arbitrary and divisive government, and vindictive retribution, they came to appreciate his ( Ali ) honesty, his unbending devotion to the reign of Islam, his deep personal loyalties, his equal treatment of all his supporters, and his generosity in forgiving his defeated enemies. " My personal opinion is that the list of Ali's enemies is endless, as it goes on and on. What I've concluded from a book "Nahjul Blagha" ( a compilation of Sermons / Letters and Sayings of Ali) that in the entire history of Islam TWO very distinguished names appear top of the list "Mua'via Ibn Abi Sufi'an and Ayesha daughter of Abibakar. Mua'via fought many wars against Ali even after the demise of Muhammad, when Ali was forced by the believers of Islam to accept the office of caliphate and became their leader, against his will. And Ayesha left no stone unturned to oppose any move that Ali made. Finally when the limitations of her hatred against the family of the prophet exploded and she fought a bloody battle known as " the battel of Camels). Irony is, that Ali was leading the believers of Islam (Umma). Her action thus logically, earned her a reputation in the history of Islam as " The Mother of Unbelievers".

Imam Hussein and His brother Al-Hassan are Sayyid Shaba Ahl-Al-Janna, both in Sunni and Shia Hadiths. Thus, killing him of ruling is the same as all oppressor are doing and did to maintain their rules.

If you acknowledge the contrary than you shall be with Saddam, Hitler and their alikes.

If you aknowledge that he is wrong than why you leave sayyid shabab al-janna for Yazid the oppressor.

To raouf: Than why did prophet Lut married a wife that Allah destroyed. And Allah bring the example of another bad wife in the same sourat of Quran in which He blame Aisha and Hasfa of divulging the Prophet secret.

To Ateeq: Plz read your Sahih I can bring Hadith that will whiten your hair. Imam Khomeini ordered the removal of hundreds of Hadidth from Bihar Al-Anwar. Because that they have been added with time. Also, in the Shia world it is know that Al-Bihar is just a compilation, without analysis, of all hadiths and stories found by Mullah Bakir.

Plz, Ask Allah to show you the ritgh path and look for it. Inshallah He will guide you so you can be resurrected with the Prophet, Ali, Fatima, Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein AND NOT Abubaker, Umar, Uthman, Mu3ayiwa and Yazid...

To all Muslims who favor Yazid,

A SIMPLE TEST ON WHICH SIDE ARE YOU OR WOULD LIKE TO BE?

Introduction of Yazid as it relates to Battle of Badr (historically the first battle between the enemies of Islam and Islam's followers) and drawing parallelism to Battle of Karbala.
From the side of enemies of Islam:
Adba - Yazid's grandmom's father
Shayba - Yazid's grandmom's uncle
Walid - Yazid's grandmom's brother

From the side of Islam (chosen by Prophet Mohammad PBUH):
Hamza - Husayn's father's Uncle
Ubaydah - Husayn's fathers' cousin
Ali - Husayn's father

Who's side you'd like to be is your choice but let it be that your fate be determined with the fate of who you chose. We, Shias, know where our choice lies and it lies with our beloved Prophet and his family. It is for you to decide where do you stand.

May God open your eyes!

Mr Ali Hyder, Your words betray the sanctity of your name. You have a completely distorted view of Shiat and rightfully so. Because the essence of Shiat is not so trivial so as to be grasped by any Tom, Dick and Harry. Your name saves you because no Shia would curse you with a name like that. However, we will pray that your fate be decided with the enemies of Ali and enemies of Ahlul Bayt.

Imam Hussainsws.’s Last Sermon

To Umayyad Army in Karbala

On the 10th of Moharram in 61 A.H., Imam Hussainsws2 admonished the army of Banu Umayyad in Karabala by giving an eloquent Sermon.

Holy Prophetsaww raised me up by feeding the Divine Prophecies. I am the son of Prophet saww and my mother is ‘Batool’sws3. I have been created as infallible Imam. I have the privilege of being the son of Amir-ul-Momaneensws. I am the son of that who holds the key to the future events and sustenance of the whole universe. Hassan (Imamas) has brought me up to his customs. I am the Divine authority, recognise me prior to declaring war against me. Be aware! You will close all the doors of forgiveness by killing me. You are doing this for the attraction of your leader’s promised rewards, but if you ask me, I can bless you thousands’ time more than that. (I know) collecting filth is in your genes. You are unable to comprehend and (debate with doubts) that we regularly travel through the milky ways. (Be aware) Stars are nothing else but aftermath of footprints. North pole finds its direction from ussws. Oursws destination is in ‘Qabah Quosaan’4; and ‘Bait-ul-Mamoor’5 is our residence. ‘Bismilla6’ refers to our beginning and ‘Yakhamah7’ concludes with our (attributes). ‘Innamah8’ describes our Divinity and Purity, ‘Allif-lam9’ is on our introduction, ‘WalAsr10’ is about our glandular status, The Verse of ‘Feel11’ is the narration of our past, ‘Walfaj12’ has borrowed colours from us, ‘Filqurbah13’ is the means to seek nearness to us, the verse of ‘Dahr14’ is on our generosity, ‘MinYashra’ defines our rights, ‘Al-Taha’ is about our way of life, the Verse of ‘Muzimmil15’ is our outfit, the verse of ‘AlQadr16’ authenticate our (Divine) rights, it is in our jurisdiction to change the direction of ‘Qabateen’ 17 we attend to the needs of others in ‘Rukku18 of prayers. Our traditions became the principles of religion; we are the ‘Ibrahimy19’. However, those who could not gain guidance from 63 years of preaching will not be influenced by my words. You are blinded by the ‘worthless’ rewards and are inclined to disgrace Holy Prophet’s familysws-which would result in your eternal punishment.

If we follow the logic of the Wahhabi that a Ruler must be obeyed even if he is a tyrant because we need to keep the peace, then logically and naturally from there we can predict that ONE DAY, when the Dajjal (LA) comes, Wahhabi's will be part of his followers, since they believe they should obey a ruler even if he is a tyrant.

As for the Nasibi who keep on cursing us Shiahs as Kafirs - I would rather have the curses of a BILLION (so-called) Muslims than the slightest displeasure of Fatimah Zahra (AS).

cursed man Hajjaj bin yusuf, by touching his feet while hajjaj didnt even bother to stand up for this man. Hajjaj was the person who did all that what a mankind will be ashamed of in Madina.By the way Muawiya is from the dynasty which is from cursed tree( sahjera malooneh) referred in quran where most of our emminent suni aalims have made the commentry on that verse of quran that it was revealed in curse of Abu sufyan and his family. Our emminent suni scholers narrate that Muawiya accepted Islam in 10th year of hijreh when almost all the quran had been revealed. His cursed father who all along his life had tortured our beloved prophet accepted islam under duress which is on conquerring Makka ,may be 7 0r 8 hijreh when his cursed son Muawiya cursed his father, dis owned him for being coward. Colonization of the Muslim mind

By Zafar Bangash

People that refuse to surrender can never be enslaved. Slavery is first and foremost a state of mind. Steve Biko, the anti-apartheid struggler paid with his life but he became immortalised in the minds of millions for refusing to surrender. He had said, “The greatest weapon in the hand of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed.” In battle, psychological defeat precedes physical defeat. When the mind accepts defeat, physical factors cannot reverse the tide. The opposite is equally true: those who refuse to surrender regardless of their disadvantage in material terms can never be defeated. Thus, we know that while the Afghans are no match for the firepower of the Americans and their allies, they have been able to force the Americans to admit there is no military solution to the problem in Afghanistan. The Americans are now talking about a negotiated settlement. The same is true in Lebanon. Unlike the Arabian regimes and their well-stocked armies, Hizbullah has refused to surrender to the Zionists. The result is clear. The Zionists have been defeated not once but twice in the last decade. The same scenario is beginning to emerge in Palestine where Hamas has refused to accept Zionist supremacy regardless of the odds.

In the rest of the Muslim world, barring Islamic Iran, the ruling elites have accepted defeat and humiliation as their permanent condition. One can find striking lessons of such behaviour related to Bani Israel described in the noble Qur’an. In one case, Bani Israel confirming their mental defeat, refused to enter a territory when Prophet Musa (a) asked them to do so as commanded by Allah (Â). Prophet Dawud (a), on the other hand, refused to be intimidated by the size of Goliath and killed him.

The Muslim ruling elites display all the characteristics of the Bani Israel of old. Their commitment to Allah (Â) is superficial, not sincere. While the Muslim world is endowed with great material resources, these are not utilised to improve the condition of the people. Instead, the elites have become accustomed to an easy lifestyle and are not prepared to face the hardships that come with struggle for truth and justice. They feel more comfortable as slaves of the West than living a dignified existence as servants of Allah (Â), the Creator and Master of the universe.

How did this situation arise? Muslims did not always display such cowardice. In the early period of Islam, small numbers of Muslims repeatedly overwhelmed much larger enemy forces. Muslims did not do so through the superiority of weapons; what they lacked in swords and spears, they made up for in iman (faith-commitment to Allah — Â), secure in the knowledge that whether they survive in battle or fall fighting, they will be victorious. Such people can never be defeated.

The slave mentality is the product of colonialism. While direct colonialism ended with the departure of European colonialists from Muslim lands, indirect colonialism has continued. People who assumed the reigns of power in the so-called independent Muslim societies were already mental slaves. They had imbibed the values, culture and mannerism of the colonial masters. They adopted the colonial master’s language and displayed the same contempt for ordinary people that the European colonialists did.

Even these may be considered minor compared to the mental slavery that is so pervasive in Muslim societies. The Muslim elite — and Pakistan is a typical example — cannot imagine life without the deathly embrace of Uncle Sam. The Pakistanis can be forgiven for such servile attitude because they do not have much wealth. How does one explain the slave mentality of the Saudis that have billions — nay trillions of dollars yet they behave as slaves of the Americans? If the Americans think jihad is bad, the Saudis immediately say “Amen”. If the Americans order removal of Qur’anic passages from textbooks that condemn certain behaviour, the Saudis immediately comply. They have bought into the propaganda that the US is all powerful.

It is far easier to overcome physical colonization but much harder to surmount mental colonization. The mind itself must be willing to break out of such a state. A lion’s natural habitat is the jungle where it roams free. A lion in the circus, however, has accepted mental defeat. Even when let loose, it does not run away to return to the jungle. The Muslim elite behave like circus lions jumping at the crack of the ring master’s whip. Nothing good can be accepted from such people; they are happy living in a cage to be fed dead meat.

The first step towards liberation is the process of liberating the Muslim mind.
